Certiport, in partnership with Educational Testing Service (ETS), is excited to announce a new certification exam entitled IC3Critical Thinking - Powered by ETS.
We will be conducting a beta for this exam from the middle of August to the middle of September.
The IC3 Critical Thinking one-hour exam will cover seven Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) Literacy content areas, using tasks at a wide range of difficulty levels. This makes the exam suitable for college students, as well as for working adults. The seven ICT Literacy content areas include:
- Define
- Access
- Evaluate
- Manage
- Integrate
- Create
- Communicate
The IC3 Critical Thinking beta will provide data that will be used to help determine the qualifying scores for this new certification exam. If you meet the qualification criteria listed below, you can be a beta test candidate, giving you the opportunity to take the certification exam for free.
Test Candidate Qualification Criteria:
- Be a native English speaker (or a native-level English speaker).
- Read at a 10th Grade level or above
- No high schools students
- Be somewhat familiar with the following topics:
a) Networks and the Internet
b) Electronic Mail
c) Using the Internet
d) The Impact of Computing and the Internet on Society
e) Computer Hardware
f) Computer Software
g) Using an Operating System
h) Common Program Functions
i) Word Processing Functions
j) Spreadsheet Functions
The IC3Critical Thinking beta exam will be available in limited quantities on a first come, first served basis, and beta test candidates receiving a passing score will receive a score report and printable certificate, documenting their critical skills achievement, which is valued in today’s academic and professional environments.
The beta exam will take about two hours to complete. It is one and a half hours long, with time added for logging in and then completing a quick survey at the end of the exam. The IC3Critical Thinking beta exam must be administered in a Certiport testing centre to ensure exam integrity and security.
JD Approach is a qualifying Certiport centre and has been accepted to run the trial. We will be combining the free exam with a free 1 day training session, however places will be extremely limited. To reserve a place or request more information please send an email to ic3@jdapproach.co.uk
