We've been working with SK Marr to review our critical illness and key man (woman) insurance as well as providing our staff with some free mortgage, pension and life assurance advice.

We recommend that you do the same, a review costs nothing and they are very likely to save you money and improve your current arrangements.

Thank you to everyone who sponsored our participation in the Race for Life.  Along with our friend Joanne we raised almost £600 for Cancer Research and had fun in the process.  We decided to include Joanne's three four-legged friends in our effort and all took one of her beautiful dogs along with us. T

PreviewThey definitely helped in our determination to succeed and attracted lots of their own attention along the way.  We also want to thank Natalie for her excellent sewing skills and providing the dogs with their own little pink outfits.  Here they are having a well deserved drink of water courtesy of Don Valley Stadium at the end of the race.

Its not too late to add your donation to our total.  If you would like to contribute our donations website will be active for at least another couple of weeks: http://www.raceforlifesponsorme.org/jdapproach

10 Reasons to Send an Email Newsletter

JD Message Email MarketingMore and more companies are turning to email newsletters as a cost effective marketing tool which helps them to market to existing customers as well as reminding potential prospects of who they are.

  1. An email is not as invasive or annoying as direct mail, it requires no effort to delete or unsubscribe if the recipient is not interested in reading the content.

  2. Sending a weekly or monthly newsletter, helps to remind existing and potential customers of your company and the products or services that you can offer.

  3. Email is a very quick and easy way to draw attention to your current special offers and discounts or to highlight a particular product that you wish to sell more of.

  4. Receiving a regular communication from you in the form of an email newsletter will help to maintain your relationship with existing customers as it serves to remind them of your existence.

  5. Writing articles in a newsletter demonstrates that you know your subject well and can be perceived as an expert in your particular area of expertise.

  6. Providing tips and advice will help to build trust from your readers and they will be more likely to read further communications from your company in the hope that it will contain more useful information.

  7. By offering a regular newsletter which people can subscribe to you could gather additional contact information and build your database through potential customers subscribing to your newsletter through your website.

  8. Messages are received within a few hours or even minutes which means this is an effective medium for providing accurate timely information.

  9. You can archive past issues of your email newsletter on your website.  This can act as a reference resource as well as improving search engine rankings, attract more visitors to your site and encourage more people to subscribe to receive further editions of your newsletter.

  10. Once your newsletter is popular and you have a big enough distribution list you can include adverts or sponsorship from other companies and build additional revenue every time you send a message.

With JD Message you get all of these benefits, data protection compliant information handling and communications, plus the ability to view statistics on how well your campaign has performed and useful information such as which recipients clicked on each of your links and how long they spent viewing the information.

Digital Britain - Keeping the UK Ahead of the Game

PreviewEarlier this month a Government report was published named 'Digital Britain'.  You may have read about it in the general press or business publications.  The aim of this report is to offer a strategic view of the sector, backed by a programme of action.

The goverment has identified a number of ways in which it can help Britain's digital economies and these include the following key areas of action:
● to complement and assist the private sector in delivering the effective modern
communications infrastructure we need, built on new digital technologies;
● to enable Britain to be a global centre for the creative industries in the digital age, delivering an ever wider range of quality content, including public service content, within a clear and fair legal framework;
● to ensure that people have the capabilities and skills to flourish in the digital
economy, and that all can participate in digital society; and
● for government to continue to modernise and improve its service to the taxpayer
through digital procurement and the digital delivery of public services.

The actions in this Digital Britain Report represent an ambitious and far reaching
programme of work in which Government, Ofcom and all parts of
the industry must play their part. Some of these actions can be carried out
immediately, some will require a longer implementation period, and some are
longer term targets which will only come to fruition over several years.

As we hear more about the actions involved we will keep you posted through our newsletter and the RSS news feed on our website.  You can also keep up to date by following the Digital Britain twitter feed.
