What is all the 'tweeting' about?

PreviewThe latest buzz in social networking is all about Twitter.  At a recent Channel 4 event I was surprised at the announcement that all questions to the speakers were to be addressed through Twitter.  The faith that such a major media organisation is placing on this tool really proves that networking on the internet is becoming the accepted way of doing things.

The New York Times calls Twitter "one of the fastest-growing phenomena on the Internet." TIME Magazine says, "Twitter is on its way to becoming the next killer app," and Newsweek noted that "Suddenly, it seems as though all the world's a-twitter."

Twitter is basically a method for posting short snippets of information or updates to a list of followers which you can build yourself through marketing your account on these site.  It is limited to 140 characters and for those of you who are already using Facebook regularly it is more or less the same as updating your 'status' field.

It has been adopted by many celebrities as you might have heard in the news, Stephen Fry is by far the most popular of these with over 234,000 people currently following his regular daily updates.  Many businesses and news organisations are now using twitter as an effective way to provide up to the minute updates on a range of subjects,  You can see some of the businesses who are tweeting regularly here: http://twibs.com

Access Your Documents from Anywhere and Share them with Others

PreviewMicrosoft have launched the beta version of their Office Live service which allows users to save up to 1000 documents in an online space for free.
We think this is an excellent service which will benefit small businesses in several ways.

What can I do with it?
Microsoft Office Live Workspace beta is your online place to save, access, and share documents and files. Use it to group related information for work, school, or personal projects. No downloads are required—just sign up and go.

Anywhere Access
Save up to 5 gigabytes (GB) of documents and files in one place. Access and preview them from almost any computer, whether or not it has Office installed. All you need is Web access and a compatible browser. Open files from your laptop or desktop PC, at home, in the office, away on holiday or any location with an internet connection.

Share with Others
Share a single document or entire workspace in a few simple steps. All you need is a person’s email address to start sharing documents with them. By storing and sharing documents online, you can be sure everyone will be working with the most current version of the document. No more missed email documents and multiple versions that could delay or disrupt an important project.

Click here to try it now - it's free.
